The Office of the Wood County Engineer will be receiving Statement Of Qualifications from interested engineering firms for services to perform Fracture Critical Bridge Inspections. Statement Of Qualifications shall include, but are not limited to, information regarding the firm’s technical expertise and a list of personnel who will be assigned to the project. Firms must be ODOT prequalified to perform fracture critical inspections. The project includes a total of 49 bridges with required inspection dates ranging from May to November in the calendar year 2026. Mail one (1) copy to: Wood County Engineer One Courthouse Square Bowling Green, OH 43402 And an electronic copy submitted below. Statement of Qualifications for Wood County Engineer
REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS The Wood County Commissioners may contract for professional services from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026 on projects initiated by the Wood County Engineer’s Office. The Wood County Engineer utilizes a quality-based method of evaluation during consultant selection. Any person or firm engaged in the practice of engineering and registered as a professional engineer or surveyor in Ohio, interested in furnishing professional services, must submit a Statement of Qualifications electronically below, and Mail one (1) copy to: Wood County Engineer One Courthouse Square Bowling Green, OH 43402 The Statement of Qualifications will be used to pre-qualify firms for potential professional services. Firms will be categorized according to their qualifications. Interested firms should include a cover letter indicating which of the following categories for which they wish to be evaluated: non-complex and complex Roadway design, non-complex and complex Bridge design, non-complex and complex Signal design and studies, Geo-technical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and assessments, Ditches, Storm Drainage design, or Land Surveying. If you are currently pre-qualified with the Ohio Department of Transportation you will be considered pre-qualified with Wood County. The Statement of Qualifications should include the following: 1) For categories not included by ODOT or for those not pre-qualified with ODOT, proof of competence and experience to perform professional services for each category that pre-qualification is requested; 2) Sample listing of projects with project explanation, current listing of governmental projects and type of services being rendered, and contact person for verification; 3) Evidence of professional liability insurance and amount; 4) History of individual or firm including information regarding main area of expertise and main or branch office locations; 5) Description of facilities and equipment; 6) Education, training, and experience of owners, principals, and project managers that would provide the potential services for the requested categories; and 7) Current status of “Certificate of Authorization” from the State of Ohio to practice engineering or surveying. 8) MBE/DBE Eligibility/Certification Once the Statement of Qualifications is received and evaluated, an acknowledgment letter will be forwarded showing the categories for which pre-qualification status has been granted. When the Wood County Engineer is in need of services for a project or program, all pre-qualified individuals or firms in that specific project category will be notified. Liquid Bituminous Material for 2026 Season
The Office of the Wood County Engineer requests bids to be received on liquid asphalt materials for our 2026 Road Program. This will require approximately 400,000 gallons of liquid asphalt materials. The following types of asphalt materials are to be bid: • MC-30, AEP-B, HFRS-2, HFRS-2P, RS-2, MWS-90, SS-1H, CM90, CM150,CM300, Fog Seal (CSS-1h Dilute 40%) • Crack Sealant: ODOT Item 423 Type I, II, III, and IV Please advise the bidders the net cost to Wood County will be considered. This would include demurrage cost. Bidders should be advised the total cost for loads will be billed on one invoice only. We recommend the contract extend to December 31, 2026. No Bid Bond will be required. The enclosed Price Adjustment Escalation and De-Escalation letter should be made part of the bid documents.

Stone sizes are as follows: No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 6, No. 8, No. 9, No. 6 (washed), No. 8 (washed), No. 9 (washed), No. 57, No. 67, No. 89 (washed), No. 304, No. 411, Rock Channel Protection Type A, B, C, and D. We recommend the contract extend to December 31, 2026. No Bid Bond will be required.
