The overall mission of the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works is to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain the County infrastructure, which includes public roads, transportation systems, bridges, water, wastewater, channel maintenance and solid waste disposal systems of the County, in order to best serve the interests of the people. These systems are maintained to protect the health and welfare of the public and the County’s financial investments. Public Works also provides vehicle support for the County, including procurement support, heavy and light vehicle maintenance and repair, and daily rental services.

The selected consulting firm (CONSULTANT) will perform professional and technical engineering services for the Washing Area Complete Streets Project (PROJECT). CONSULTANT will design and engineer the Washington area neighborhood roadway into a "complete streets" corridor, The PROJECT will include the construction of new sidewalks and buffered bike lanes, as well as enhanced intersections throughout the project area. Improvements will be constructed along Washington Street, Del Mar Avenue, Horner Avenue, and Walker Lane. The selected CM firm will perform professional and technical engineering services for the proposed Escalon Road Bridge No. 29C-476 Replacement Project. Countywide Traffic Signal Equipment Upgrade Project
The work is located at various intersections throughout the County. The work, in general, consists of removing and replacing existing traffic controllers, and installing video detection systems to replace vehicle loop detectors. Pursuant to the Public Contract Code Section 3400 (c)(2), the Department has designated the Miovision Video Detection System (VDS), including associated products listed in the plans and specifications, as the exclusive VDS for the project. This specification is necessary to complement VDS equipment currently in use throughout the County on existing public improvements.
