This project is to evaluate and provide recommended alternatives for improvements to mitigate excessive and chronic flooding that occurs along Wesselman Creek located in Colerain, Green, and Miami Townships. Identifying potential hazards and assessing risk will be founded on a strong interdisciplinary approach to gathering and evaluating the necessary data and developing feasible alternatives (including green techniques) to mitigate the problem. Completion of a detailed planning study will provide valuable insight into the current creek and overland flooding of Wesselman Road. The completion of this project scoping study will provide Hamilton County with a complete project for use in future mitigation funding opportunities. The final outcomes of this scope of work will include engineering design and a benefit cost analysis. Hamilton County plans to apply for funding in the future to complete the mitigation project from this study which will include addressing possible flooding impacts to NFIP-insured structures.
