The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is responsible for building, maintaining and operating the state's roads, bridges and tunnels, and has the third-largest state-maintained highway system in the country, behind Texas and North Carolina.  

VDOT procures professional services contracts for transportation projects through competitive negotiation, a selection method defined in the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA) §2.2-4300, and in accordance with the Department’s most current professional services procurement manual.

In addition to establishing baseline reference points, the monitoring may include diagnostic assessment of a structural or behavioral problem affecting the short-term and long-term durability and performance of structures or pave way for options for repair or rehabilitation. The work will be performed in service of highway structures, which are generally defined as bridges, buildings, tunnels, traffic structures, culverts, utilities and support systems, although the consultant could be called upon to provide services in support of other types of structures. Description: The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking expressions of interest from firms to provide all types of professional geospatial services, including but not limited to aerial photography, photogrammetry / Aerial LiDAR, terrestrial LiDAR, mobile LiDAR, GIS services, construction surveys / stakeout, hydrographic and/or bathometric surveying, GPS services, geodetic and/or control surveys, topographic surveys, location (route) surveys, hydraulic and/or drainage surveys, final or As-Built surveys, closed and/or boundary surveys, data fusion, staff augmentation, ancillary services (traffic control, title reports / commitments, etc.), full range of UAS services and utility designation & location services on a statewide basis.
