The renovation will include architectural renovations to provide a 1 hour “control area” for the researcher’s use. Modifications required include door and frame replacement, drywall, paint, and sealing modifications. Mechanically, the project will re-work exhaust devices in both rooms and add point-of-use snorkel exhaust.

Building Identification Sign Replacement Replacement, refurbishment or new fabrication and installation of building identification free-standing signs, wall-mounted and vinyl-applied signs. Signs vary in scale, type and composition. Refer to Sign Types in Contract Documents. Restoration of landscaping elements surrounding new, replacement or refurbished signs including, but not limited to pavers, asphalt, mulch beds and grass. Demolition and proper disposal of signs, posts and concrete bases. If sign is not replaced, fill holes left by base removal and patch according to surrounding landscape. An alternate for (2) Sign Type 41 monument signs. Installation of temporary signs (purchased by allowance through the Owner) while signs are being refurbished. Removal of temporary signs after refurbished signs are installed.

The work consists of the modernization of three (3) traction elevators, one each in Hitchcock Hall, the Mathematics Building, and Scott Hall. The work will include minor general trades work and upgrades to associated mechanical and electrical systems necessary for the elevator improvements.

The Project consists of the replacement of 2 domestic water heaters and 2 heating water boilers on the 13th and 14th Floors of Taylor Tower. The work also includes replacement of 2 domestic water storage tanks and 6 heating water expansion tanks. The work will be done in 4 phases for minimum impact to building operation. The University will pre-purchase 3 heating water boilers and 2 domestic water boilers to be installed by the Contractor.
