Western MA Mountain Road Culvert Improvements Mount Greylock State Reservation & Pittsfield State Forest Berkshire County This project consists of the replacement of two existing culverts within Mount Greylock State Reservation and two within Pittsfield State Forest (four culvert replacements total) to improve drainage capacity and structural integrity. The upgrades will enhance resilience to increased stormwater flows from future rainfall events, reduce erosion and flooding risks, and alleviate existing safety hazards affecting access to both mountain road systems. The designs for both locations incorporate climate-resilient principles to ensure long-term durability and environmental stability within these critical areas. DCR Rink Roofs and Solar Project This project consists of installing photovoltaic panels on one recreational facility roof and two rink roofs. The systems include the panels, raceways, conductors, invertors, and connection to the existing buildings electrical equipment. A new roof is included at the Bajko Rink that must be installed prior to installation of the solar panels. Work shall include providing DCR with all assistance necessary in registering the roof photovoltaic systems with the required State Agencies and Utilities to bring the systems online and make fully functional. The estimated project: $3,600,000 Alternate 1 Installation of additional solar panels at the Bajko Rink to cover the roof in its entirety is available as an Alternate as part of the Bid. The Estimate amount for the Alternate is $750,000. It is at the discretion of DCR to exercise the Alternate as part of the work. Servicing Traffic Signals and Control Systems Counties: Bristol, Berkshire, Barnstable, Middlesex, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire Norfolk, Dukes, Plymouth, Suffolk, Worcester, and Nantucket This project consists of providing service to maintain traffic signal and control systems (DCR Statewide) in good working order, including scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency repairs and modifications. Subject to appropriations for expenditures as noted in Part IV, Notice of Special Conditions of the Contract (Paragraph A & B). The estimated project cost is $2,400,000.00 The work is to be accomplished within 730 calendar days of a notice to proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1000.00 per day will be assessed if the work has not been completed in accordance with the provisions of the contract within the time specified (as extended by any authorized extension of time granted in accordance with the contract provisions). Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation (MassDOT) Highway Division in Traffic Signals to bid on the above project. An award will not be made to a Contractor who is not pre-qualified by MassDOT prior to the opening of Proposals. The proposed contract includes a combined requirement of 10.4% of the bid price for minority-owned business enterprises and women-owned business enterprises. Proposed MBE/WBE plans that include solely MBE or solely WBE , or do not include a reasonable amount by both MBE and WBE firms to meet the combined requirements, will not be considered responsive. The applicable local minority workforce utilization percentage is a minimum goal of 15.3%. The applicable local women workforce utilization percentage is a minimum goal of 6.9%.
