Partial demolition of the existing structure carrying Bear Creek Blvd over Laurel Run consisting of a 45’-0” long x 35’-0” wide Reinforced Concrete T Beam bridge. This structure will be replaced with a Single Span Composite Prestressed Concrete Spread Box Beam Superstructure atop Cast-in-Place Reinforced Concrete Cantilever Abutments that will provide a 18’ clear roadway width between the Structure Mounted Guide Rail barriers. The existing bridge substructure will be demolished to Elevation 1022.00 and the new bridge will span past the existing abutments and wingwalls. The existing culvert is significantly undersized to provide the flow capacity necessary for the large upstream drainage area, which includes a significant amount of surface water runoff from the Mid-State Regional Airport runways. The proposed replacement structure is a precast concrete spread box beam superstructure supported by an integral abutment substructure. Structure Replacement, Bridge No. 6451-7502, Charles Bailey Trail Over UNT to East Branch White Clay Creek White Clay Creek Preserve London Britain Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania Demolition of the remaining portions of the existing structure which formerly carried Charles Bailey Trail over Unnamed Tributary to East Branch White Clay Creek (15 7935 6451 7501) in White Clay Creek Preserve. The existing single span concrete slab superstructure is no longer in place as it was washed out by flooding. Only portions of the existing stone masonry abutments remain. The remnant of the washed-out superstructure is stockpiled (rubble) on the east approach. This structure will be replaced with one precast reinforced concrete box culvert with precast reinforced concrete end sections which will provide an 8-foot useable trail width; 14-foot clear span and 7-foot rise. Replacement includes Driving Surface Aggregate (DSA) – 6” Depth, rock lining, and architectural surface treatment.
