The Medina County Sanitary Engineering Department has three (3) separate Divisions: (1) Administration;(2) Sewerage; and (3) Water Supply and Distribution. The Sanitary Engineering Department has always functioned as a self-supporting department with the funds necessary to provide services, personnel, and debt retirement obtained through user charges to those residences or firms which utilize the services provided.

The Medina County Sanitary Engineers Office currently provides, maintains, and manages water and wastewater systems for approximately 50,000 customers. The primary goal is to provide safe, reliable, efficient services that are in compliance with Local, State and Federal Regulations.

Our Mission: To provide effective and sustainable water and water reclamation services while preserving and protecting the natural resources of Medina County.

Our Vision: To make decisions that are fiscally responsible and regulatory compliant, and to deliver the best value and service to our customers and the community.

Greenwich and Lake Water Main Extension
Separate sealed bids for the construction of the Medina County Greenwich and Lake Water Main Extension will be received by the Medina County Sanitary Engineer, Medina County, Ohio electronically through the Medina County Sanitary Engineer's Bid Express page at www.bidexpress.com until 1:30 PM, Eastern Time on Friday, September 5, 2025, at which time said bids will be made publicly available through Bid Express. The bids will be reviewed and then awarded through a resolution by the Medina County Commissioners. It is the purpose of this contract to provide all labor, materials, equipment, bypass pumping, utility coordination and traffic control necessary for project W-700/00-42.1 to install approximately 3,300 feet of new 12-inch water main along Greenwich Road from and an existing capped water main to the intersection with Lake Road, install approximately 900 feet of new 12-inch water main along Lake Road from the intersection with Greenwich to an existing capped water main, and install approximately 100 feet of 12-inch water main along Daniels Road starting at Greenwich Road, The water main will be constructed by open cut and trenchless methods. The work will also include new hydrants, valves, and surface restoration. A below-grade pressure reducing valve vault will be part of this project as well. The estimated construction cost for this project is $2,230,000.00. Garman Road Well Development
Separate sealed bids for the construction of the Garman Road Well Development project will be received by the Medina County Sanitary Engineer, Medina County, Ohio until 1:30 PM, eastern time on Friday, August 22, 2025, at which time said bids will be made publicly available through Bid Express. Marks Road Water Main Replacement
Separate sealed bids for the construction of the Marks Road Water Main Replacement will be received by the Medina County Sanitary Engineer, Medina County, Ohio until 1:30 PM, eastern standard time on Friday, March, 14th, 2025 at which time said bids will be made publicly available through Bid Express. The bids will be reviewed and then awarded through a resolution by the Medina County Commissioners. It is the purpose of this contract to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and maintenance of existing devices necessary to install approximately 5,680 feet of new 12-inch water main along Marks Road from Grafton Road to Boston Road. The water main will be constructed by open cut and trenchless methods. The work will also include new hydrants, valves, services, and surface restoration. Approximately 260 additional feet of water main, ranging from 6-16-inches in diameter, will be installed to make connections to side streets. In addition, approximately 1,230 feet of storm sewer will be replaced with diameters ranging from 12 inches to 36 inches. The estimated construction cost for the base bid is: $2,628,700.00. Ryan Road Water Storage Tank and Westfield Standpipe Rehabilitation Project
It is the purpose of this contract to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and tools necessary for the rehabilitation of two (2) water storage tanks, one located in Westfield Center, Ohio, and the other in Chippewa Lake, Ohio, both owned by the Board of Medina County Commissioners, together with all related work referenced in the detailed specifications. Ryan Road Water Storage Tank, with a sidewall height of 46 feet and a diameter of 43 feet. The Ryan Road Water Storage tank is located at 5444 Ryan Road, Chippewa Lake, Ohio. Westfield Standpipe, with an estimated height to high water level of 56 feet and a diameter of 24 feet. The Westfield Standpipe is located at 8530 Virginia Drive, Westfield Center, Ohio. Overall project requirements: Should a question arise at any time during the examination of Bid Documents or investigation of the site the Bidder may seek clarification by submitting a Pre-bid Question. East Reagan Riverbank Stabilization Project
Separate sealed bids for the construction of the East Reagan Riverbank Stabilization Project will be received by the Medina County Sanitary Engineer, Medina County, Ohio until 1:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday, November 22nd, 2024, at which time said bids will be made publicly available through Bid Express. The bids will be reviewed and then awarded through a resolution by the Medina County Commissioners. This project includes all measures necessary to construct, regrade and stabilize 422 LF of the West Branch of the Rocky River that abuts an existing 48” Sanitary Main. The existing 48” Sanitary Main is at risk of being structurally compromised due to the heavy erosion occurring along the right descending bank. The intent of this project is to realign the stream channel away from the sanitary pipe, stabilize the bank with vegetated rip rap and root wads, as well as create floodplain on the left descending bank. Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project 2025
Separate sealed bids for the construction of the Medina County Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project 2025 will be received by the Medina County Sanitary Engineer, Medina County, Ohio until 1:30 P.M. eastern standard time on Friday, October 18th, at which time said bids will be made publicly available through Bid Express. Approximately 6100 LF of existing 8" Sanitary Sewer pipe will be lined using CIPP Liner at various locations within Medina County. The project areas are located throughout the City of Brunswick, the City of Medina, Hinckley Township, and the Village of Chippewa Lake.
