Project Description: INVITATION FOR BIDS The CITY OF NEW ALBANY, Ohio will receive sealed bids for the materials and labor necessary for the construction of the New Albany-Condit Road(SR605) Roadway Widening & South Harlem Road Roadway Improvements projects. Bids shall be received by the CITY OF NEW ALBANY through Bid Express until 11:00 A.M. local time on April 5, 2024, at which time all bids will be publicly opened at Village Hall at 99 W. Main Street, New Albany, Ohio, after which the bids will be revealed through the Bid Express online system. The CITY OF NEW ALBANY may choose to not award the bid—and bidders shall hold bids open—until sixty days after the bid opening. The work for which bids are invited consists of: Roadway and Driveway Improvements including approximately 1400 feet of roadway/driveway and 2500' of roadway , modular block retaining wall, asphalt path , storm sewer, earthwork, water line, traffic control, landscaping, signal, and curb ramps. The cost estimate for the Project is $3,236,000 for the base bid. Prebid meeting set for 9:30 A.M., March 27, 2024 at the New Albany Public Service Department at 7800 Bevelhymer Road, New Albany, Ohio 43054. Digital copies of the Contract Documents are on file at www.bidexpress.com (phone (888)-352-2439), where they are available for inspection or download by prospective bidders after 8:00 A.M on March 20, 2024, only at costs associated with the Bid Express service fee schedule. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form shall be issued by a surety company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experience on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner requires that this project be completed by August 12, 2024 for New Albany-Condit Road for substantial completion(being 1 week prior to school opening) and December 1, 2024 for South Harlem Road Roadway Imp. for substantial completion and May 24, 2025 for Final Completion for both. Payment of Prevailing Wages is required for this Project. This project consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment for the construction of approximately 4,975-Feet of 24-inch, 5,845 feet of 20-inch water main, 100 feet of 16-inch water main, 1,615 feet of 12-inch water main, and 235 feet of 6-inch water main and associated restoration. Installation of the water main will require a completion of a jack and bore of approximately 60 feet of a 36-inch steel casing pipe and 20 feet of a 42-inch steel casing pipe. The estimated costs of construction for the work outlined in the plans and specifications for the various bids are: Base Bid: $9,300,000.
