Project Description: Erie Street Park will be BREC's newest small neighborhood park, located on the corner of Erie Street and Plank Road. This small park focuses on green infrastructure, utilizing bio-retention planters (rain gardens) to capture stormwater on site, clean it and ensure that the water infiltrates into the site's soils. The planters contain Louisiana native trees, shrubs,
grasses and wildflowers that will provide for pollinators and local wildlife, while retaining the soil, providing shade and seasonal variety and interest to the site. The park has a variety of pavement and surface types including concrete, permeable pavers, artificial turf, decomposed granite, small boardwalk and mulch. The cistern element shown in
the plans is listed as an Alternate.

Project Description: This project consists of the construction of approximately 358 linear feet of new concrete pathway consisting of new 8 feet wide concrete sidewalk and one new 12 feet wide bridge. The new pathway will briefly parallel Monte Sano Bayou on its southern end and tie into the existing pathway on the project’s northern end. The new bridge will span the drainage lateral that intersects with Monte Sano Bayou, and it will have channel protection in the form of heavy riprap. Also included in this project is the removal of one existing bridge and its connecting pathway at logical termini just east of the new pathway site.
