The City of Aurora, Ohio operates the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at 264 N. Chillicothe Road, Aurora, OH 44202. A new aerobic sludge digestion tank system has been erected on site and has become operational. The existing steel digestion tank, built in 1969, is to be demolished as part of the Central WWTP Sludge Digestion and Solids Handling Project. The City of Aurora is soliciting competitive bids to remove and dispose of sludge contents from the existing aerobic digestion tank prior to decommissioning in an environmentally responsible manner, compliant with all Ohio EPA requirements for Class B sludge, not to exceed $120,000.00. Contractors are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting scheduled on August 29, 2023 at 10AM. During that time, bidders will have an opportunity to measure the dimensions of the tank, verify work areas, and sample sludge, which is believed to vary in concentration at deeper depths. THE CITY IS REQUESTING PRICING FOR THE SERVICES REQUESTED IN THE DETAILED SPECIFICATION. A BID BOND NOR MAINTENANCE BOND WILL REQUIRED AS THIS IS A ONE-TIME SERVICE, NOT A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT.
