Equalization Basin Drain Valve Replacement - Westerly WWTP (Re-Bid)
The equalization basin is an earthen basin lined with a synthetic liner. The basin is separated into two separate cells. Cell #1 has a capacity of 1.0 MG, and Cell #2 has a capacity of 2.0 MG. The purpose of this basin is to temporarily store screened wastewater during periods of high flows. After the flows subside, the basin is drained. The valve for Cell #1 is operational, but it is near the end of its useful life. The valves are 12-inch plug valves and direct buried approximately 13 feet below ground surface. It is not possible for city personnel to maintain these valves without deep excavation. Budgeted Amount: $120,000.00
