The removal and partial removal also consists of three retaining canal walls (wingwalls). The new aqueduct structure will consist of full height reinforced concrete abutments located within the existing stone masonry canal walls and will support a new single span prestressed concrete adjacent box beam aqueduct. The new pedestrian structure will consist of a single span steel rolled beam bridge with a timber deck set atop new beam seats. Demolition of the existing structure carrying Towpath Bypass over Delaware Canal of a 59’-0” long x 75’-0” wide (3) cell Corrugated Metal Pipe culvert. This structure will be replaced with a Single Span Composite Prestressed Concrete Adjacent Box Beam Superstructure atop Precast Reinforced Concrete Cantilever Abutments that will provide a 13’-2 ¼” clear roadway width between the PA Type 10M Bridge Barriers. Replacement includes driving surface aggregate and rock lining. c. Construction of PA Type 10M Bridge Barrier, measured from end of structure to end of structure. d. Construction of a temporary crossing at approximately 60’ south of the bridge site to maintain access to the eastern canal berm. e.
