Traffic Signal Improvements Soldiers Field Road at Everett Street Location: Allston, MA The project consists of intersection improvements at the intersection of Soldiers Field Road and Everett Street in Allston, MA. Intersection improvements include the installation of a new traffic signal, the removal of the existing traffic signal and the reconstruction of sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps within the intersection, landscaping, pavement markings and regulatory signage, minor drainage modifications for the area, utility pole and overhead line relocation. The work includes unclassified excavation, micro milling, full depth asphalt pavement, hot mix asphalt overlay, traffic signal systems, drainage, granite curb, pavement markings, signs, landscaping, and other incidental work. The estimated project cost is $ 1,450,000.00 The work is to be accomplished within 365 calendar days of a notice to proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per day will be assessed if the work has not been completed in accordance with the provisions of the contract within the time specified (as extended by any authorized extension of time granted in accordance with the contract provisions). Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation (MassDOT) Highway Division in HIGHWAY-CONSTRUCTION to bid on the above project. An award will not be made to a Contractor who is not pre-qualified by MassDOT prior to the opening of Proposals. Uhlman, Jr. Bandstand) The project consists of demolishing the existing terrazzo roof and asphaltic waterproofing membrane down to the bare structural concrete sub-roof, and complete removal of the limestone roof edging. Replacement with a new zinc-coated copper radiused flat seam roof over wood sleepers and new waterproofing membrane, cast concrete cornice stones with Kryton waterproofing admixture, and repointing of the brick rooftop lantern, with various repairs to the lantern’s limestone cap and base stones. Removal and replacement of bandstand ceiling and lighting, with a period-correct faux coffered ceiling, and LED lighting. Replacement of the Lantern’s Faux oculus panels with storm proof louvers. Adding Life safety exit and emergency lighting in the unoccupied basement storage area for code compliance. The Project Estimate $429,111 The work is to be accomplished within 90 calendar days of a notice to proceed.
