            Roadway Improvements - Hard Road Water Quality & Smoky Row Road Drainage Revisions

1.1  Scope:  The City of Columbus, Department of Public Service is receiving bids until November 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM local time, for construction services for the Roadway Improvements – Hard Road Water Quality & Smoky Row Road Drainage Revisions project.  Bids are to be submitted only at www.bidexpress.com.  Hard copies shall not be accepted.

The Hard Road Water Quality portion of the project involves installing several water quality structures on Hard Road between Sawmill Road and Smoky Row Road. The project includes replacement of existing roadway pavement, curbs, sidewalks, curb ramps, and pavement markings. The project also includes relocation of an existing waterline, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract, as set forth in this Invitation For Bid (IFB).  

The Smoky Row Road Drainage Improvements portion of the project involves the installation of several drainage structures and associated storm pipes. The project includes replacement of existing roadway pavement, curbs, sidewalks, curb ramps, pavement markings, signage, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract, as set forth in this Invitation For Bid (IFB).

A pre-bid meeting will not be held.

1.1  Scope:  The City of Columbus, Department of Public Service is receiving bids until December 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM local time, for construction services for the Roadway – Blossom Field Boulevard – Broad Street to Westbourne Avenue project. This project involves the improvement of approximately 0.32 miles of Blossom Field Boulevard, between East Broad Street and Westbourne Avenue, by resurfacing and pavement removal.  In addition to this work will be the placement of a roundabout at the intersection of Blossom Field Boulevard/Granite Pointe Drive/Westbourne Avenue. The improvements also include new, full depth pavement, curb and gutter, straight curb, sidewalk, drives, storm sewer system, bioretention cell, shared use path, signage,  lighting, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract, as set forth in this Invitation For Bid (IFB).

This project includes replacing the sidewalk and curb on the east side of N. High Street Between E. 8th (Sta. 17+25.00) and E. 9th Avenue (Sta. 21+90.00).  Street trees will be installed.  Street and pedestrian light fixtures will be replaced within the project limits.  Storm sewer inlets will be relocated to accommodate curb modifications.  A new trunk sewer will be provided from E. 8th to E. 9th Avenue.

The work for which proposals are invited consists of: installing messenger wire, conduit, pullboxes, fiber optic cable, Ethernet switches, traffic flow monitors, communication cabinets, and wireless radios to migrate the Columbus traffic signal system from older systems to a new one.  The limits of the project are primarily central to northern half of Franklin County with 110 miles of fiber optic cable to be installed to connect approximately 265 traffic signals.  Some of the major corridors include High Street, Fifth Avenue, Olentangy River Road, Stelzer Road, Karl Road, and Indianola Avenue.
