OSU Columbus Campus: Renovation of Room 330 into an XMD studio in the Hayes Hall building. Scope includes Architectural, Plumbing (demo only), MEP, and Structural (Unistrut).

The project includes repairs to the exterior masonry façade at the corners of 3 academic buildings on the campus of The Ohio State University (Smith Laboratory, Bolz Hall, and the Animal Sciences Building). The masonry repairs include the replacement of the through-wall flashing, replacement of steel shelf angles/lintels at isolated distress, brick masonry replacement at isolated distress, installation of through-wall anchors, sawcutting of existing and new brick masonry expansion joints, stone patching at isolated distress, joint sealant abatement and installation, masonry cleaning and the application of a clear water repellent.

Lazenby Hall Suite 121 will be renovated to support incoming faculty department members and their lab personnel. Suite 121 is currently fit out with single occupant research rooms and supporting mechanical, electrical, and technology infrastructure. The intent of this renovation is to remove the small research rooms and create an open environment to support new research teams. This renovation requires hazardous materials abatement, demolition, ADA compliance review, and interior finish upgrades. Mechanical and electrical design will include HVAC, electric, IT coordination, and fire alarm modifications

Description The steam-powered condensate receiver tank in the vault outside Biomedical Research Tower (BRT) shall be demolished. A new stainless steel condensate receiver packaged skid including electrically powered pumps and piping is specified to be installed in the mechanical room 0190M and reconnected to the BRT utility system.

This project will renovate about 3,000 SF of existing space on the first floor of Newton Hall for Research Labs for the College of Nursing. Their current space is in the basement of the building so moving the Labs to the first floor will provide much more visibility. The required spaces will include a Flexible Laboratory, Tissue Culture Laboratory, Work Area, Freezer Rooms, Imaging Room, and Director’s Office.
