Bridge Preventive Maintenance Program Scour Mitigation
The work to be done consists, in general, of the maintenance of six (6) bridges through installing new or repairing existing scour countermeasures and conducting other maintenance activities at each location. Vegetation and trash will be removed from the channel at each location and a dead tree at Location 3 will also be removed. The locations of work are as follows:

The building interior will be renovated to provide adult and children behavioral health service suites, adult and children urgent care suites, medical and records support suites, a multi-purpose/childcare suite, and staff offices.

The work to be done, in general, consists of a tenant improvement to an existing 39,609 square foot office building for the Probation department. Exterior work includes resealing and restriping of the existing parking, security fencing, and accessibility upgrades to the path of travel and barrier removal. Interior work includes office remodel, ceiling and lighting replacement, and restroom renovations. The work does not include the high bay warehouse attached to the office building.

Houghton Canal at N Chateau Fresno Avenue Tree Removal
The work to be done consists, in general, of the removal and proper disposal of 242 almond trees, 222 grapevines, and one additional tree, including the root ball, located within the project limits of the Houghton Canal Bridge Replacement Project on N Chateau Fresno Avenue. Additional work will also include removing any abandoned components of irrigation systems, cleaning up debris after tree removal, and grading to keep property owners’ flood irrigations systems fully functional.
The DBE goal is 14 percent.

Choinumni Park Improvements
The work to be done consists, in general, of improvements to Choinumni Park including furnishing and installing picnic/barbecue areas, prefabricated shelters, restrooms and septic system, playground and play structures, horseshoe pits, and concrete cornhole boards, miscellaneous signage and striping, and miscellaneous electrical and plumbing improvements throughout the park. The work will also include two new trails, application of chip seals on existing roads and camp stalls, and replacement of the existing campsite fire pits and picnic tables. This project contains additive items including construction of informational kiosks along the trails, installation of solar powered lights, application of additional chip seal to the remaining roads throughout the park and the construction of a basketball court and volleyball courts.

Herndon-Barstow Elementary High Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK)

The work to be done consists, in general, of relocating the existing crosswalk, demolishing an existing left turn pocket, widening a section of Grantland Avenue to construct a new sidewalk with curb, gutter, and ADA curb ramps, and installing a High Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK), [also known as a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB)] system at the new crosswalk near Herndon-Barstow Elementary School. The existing flashing beacons will also be removed as part of the project. All on-site work will be performed while school is out of session, between June 16, 2025 and August 13, 2025.
