Bridge Preventive Maintenance Program Scour Mitigation The work to be done consists, in general, of the maintenance of six (6) bridges through installing new or repairing existing scour countermeasures and conducting other maintenance activities at each location. Vegetation and trash will be removed from the channel at each location and a dead tree at Location 3 will also be removed. 22-05-C Dry Creek Bridge Replacement on Burrough Valley Road
The work to be done consists, in general, of the replacement of the Dry Creek Bridge and box culvert on Burrough Valley Road, south of the community of Tollhouse and approximately 25 miles northeast of the City of Fresno. The existing bridge would be removed to accommodate a replacement structure measuring 35 feet 6 inches wide by 114 feet long; the replacement structure would accommodate two 12-foot-wide traffic lanes, two 4-foot-wide shoulders, and two Type 836 concrete barriers. The replacement culvert would consist of a two cell 6-foot high (4-foot clear) by 12-foot wide (12-foot clear) precast concrete box culvert structure. During construction, traffic on Burrough Valley Road would be maintained through the construction of a temporary creek crossing downstream of the existing bridge. The crossing would be located approximately 110 feet south of the southwestern corner of the existing bridge span, connecting Tollhouse Road to Burrough Valley Road.

22-21-C RMO Yard Area 8 Fence Reconstruction
The work to be done consists, in general, of the reconstruction of the fence and two access gates surrounding the Area 8 Maintenance and Operations yard, which is south of Olive and in between Highland Ave and McCall Ave on 9525 E. Olive Ave. in Sanger. Prior to the installation of the chain link fence, existing fence and wood fence posts need to be removed and disposed of. The existing fence consists of barbed wire on wood with most areas on metal posts. The 2 access gates will need to provide for 16 feet wide openings. The chain link fence will be 6 feet tall with barbed wire along the top.

The work to be done consists, in general, of 178 lane miles of crack sealing. Several additive locations are proposed for up to 17 lane miles of crack sealing within County Service Areas.

22-20-C Dry Creek on Burrough Valley Road Tree Removal
The work, in general, consists of removal and proper disposal of 45 native trees located within the project limits of the Dry Creek Bridge Replacement Project on Burrough Valley Road, just east of Tollhouse Road. All debris generated by the felling and removal of trees must be removed. The roadway must be kept free from debris at all times. Installation of Temporary Fence (Type ESA) may be required prior to beginning onsite work. The DBE Contract Goal is 0 percent. Federal Project Number: BRLS-5942(245)

22-09-C Ashlan Avenue and Palm Avenue Traffic Signal and Road Improvements
The work to be done consists, in general, of fully replacing the existing traffic signal, removing an existing drain inlet and several trees, and reconstructing the pavement at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Ashlan Avenue. The work will also include cold planing and overlaying, installing four (4) new concrete curb ramps, replacing, and installing the new curb and gutter, installing approximately 140 lineal feet of sidewalk, and signing, striping and pavement marking. The work will also involve coordination with existing utility companies and the City of Fresno. The intersection shall remain open during the entire duration of the project. 22-14-C Golden State Boulevard Phase 1
The work to be done consists in general of improvements along Golden State Boulevard for approximately 14.1 miles from south of American Avenue to Mission Street in Kingsburg through Cities of Fowler, Selma, Kingsburg, and unincorporated areas of the County. The work will include pavement rehabilitation using an on-site Cold Central Plant Recycling technique, cement-treated base, laying hot-mix asphalt, excavation and trenching, intersection signalization and channelization, installing end terminals and wood post guardrails, striping, pipe installation, sidewalk installation and replacement, installation of street lights, landscaping including tree removals, and other items as specified in the plans and specifications. The project requires a ninety (90) days plant establishment period per Standard Specifications and Special provisions. The plans are divided into three sets, one for each region, however they will be constructed as one project. Intersection and signal work involving Union Pacific Railroad will be bid as Phase 2 of this project at a later time.

22-07-C West Park Pedestrian Pathway
The work to be done consists, in general, of installing an asphalt concrete pedestrian pathway, ramps and appropriate signage along Valentine Avenue from the community of West Park to West Park Elementary School. Adjustment of water meter boxes will be required as part of the work. Installation of a pedestrian crossing flashing sign with all appurtenant electrical work including coordination with PG&E Rule 16. The DBE Contract Goal is 21 percent. 22-10-M Deck Treatments
The work to be done consists, in general, of placing a methacrylate treatment on the bridge decks of eleven (11) Fresno County bridges as part of the Bridge Preventive Maintenance Program. Four (4) bridge decks will also require the placement of a polyester concrete overlay. The existing bridge deck surfaces at these locations are typically concrete, with traffic striping at some locations. The work entails sand blasting the deck surfaces, vacuuming the residue, and placing methacrylate treatment and new striping on the bridge decks only. Where necessary, some bridges will also require the removal of asphalt concrete overlay on the bridge deck, the removal and patching of unsound concrete, and/or the placement of a polyester concrete overlay. Existing deck drainage outlets are to be plugged and forms are to be placed along the edge of the deck to ensure construction materials do not enter the channels or run off the bridge decks.

22-02-C American Avenue Shoulder Improvments
Placer Avenue to Madera Avenue The work to be done consists, in general, of adding approximately four (4) feet of new paved shoulder over aggregate base to each side of American Avenue from Placer Avenue to Madera Avenue (SR145), a distance of approximately 5.9 miles. This will widen the existing 24-foot wide roadway to consist of two 12-foot wide travel lanes with four-foot wide paved shoulders on each side of the roadway. The project also includes striping, installation of signs, installation of asphalt concrete dikes in certain sections of the road and other miscellaneous items as specified in the plans and specification. 21-13-M Bituminous Seal Coats
The work to be done consists, in general, of furnishing and placing screenings over asphaltic emulsion at various existing roads in Fresno County. The seal coat will be constructed on 22.75 miles of roadway on County roads. County forces will repair, trim, and blade heavy dirt deposits and vegetation from the existing surfacing in advance of construction. Crack sealing will be performed on approximately 36 miles of roadway prior to placing of the seal coat. An additional 6 miles of road of seal coats are included as additive bids.
