The Kenai Peninsula Borough (KPB) and its joint applicants are seeking proposals from qualified firms to complete a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. The Action Plan is to be in compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s General Terms and Conditions under the Fiscal Year 2022 Safe Streets and Roads for All (“SS4A”) Grant Program: FHWA Projects. Community meetings will be held to provide Advisory Planning Commissions and general public review and comments for incorporation into the Action Plan as appropriate. An interactive ArcGIS Story Map or Hub site is to be developed to show project information, collect feedback, and provide process transparency.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified firms to submit a firm price for acceptance by the Borough to purchase an estimated 1,432,830 pounds of Anhydrous Calcium Chloride, 94 –97% mini pellets, industrial grade and must be in no less than 2,000-pound bags and no more than 2,700-pound bags. Bags must have a bottom discharge chute for easy release of the product. The mini pellets must meet the classification of Anhydrous Calcium Chloride Type S, Grade 3, Class B, according to the ASTM D-98 and AASHTO M 144 requirement of calcium chloride purity.
