The Contractor shall perform work at various locations throughout the City, as ordered by the Common Council, or as directed by the Engineer. This work includes replacing defective sidewalk and curb and gutter, concrete pavement repairs, sidewalk ramps including detectable warning fields (supplied by the Contractor), Metro Transit bus pads, and other associated work. A list of approved locations and detail drawings are included with these Special Provisions. The list, however, is not a final list. Additional locations may be added.

This project will replace a failing concrete retaining wall in James Madison Park. This concrete wall supports the driveway to the underground parking garage serving the Lincoln School Apartments. The project uses a hybrid approach to replace a portion of the wall in kind then regrade a portion of the hillside within the park to support the driveway without a need for a retaining wall.

The work under this contract shall include but not be limited to removing and salvaging existing arms, poles, breakaway bases, and flashing red light devices; installing new traffic signal bases, conduit, and pullboxes. The project limits for the work at the intersection of Sprecher Road & Milwaukee Street are approximately 330-feet on each approach of the intersection.
