I. Scope of Services:

• Removal and Replacement of the Existing Stand-By Generator with Two (2) Parallel 600kW Stand-By Diesel Generators complete with 2,500A, 480VAC, 3PH Paralleling Switchgear.
• Removal and Disposal of the Existing Manual Transfer Switch and Replacement with 2,500A, 480VAC Delayed Transition Automatic Transfer Switch.
• Installation of Low Voltage Panelboard for Supply to Generator Appurtenances.
• Interconnections to Owner’s SCADA for Generator Monitoring.
• Miscellaneous Civil and Electrical Work as Required to Complete the Work.

Scope of Services:
The City of Lake Charles owns and operates the Wastewater Treatment Plant D, located at 3820 Tank Farm Rd. In the draft permit renewals for each facility, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) introduced a new effluent discharge limitation for Enterococci bacteria. Manchac has consulted with the existing disinfection equipment manufacturer and determined that the equipment will not meet the new Enterococci limits as mandated by DEQ.
This project will include the removal and replacement of the existing disinfection treatment equipment with a new Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Bisulfite disinfection basin. Work includes the construction of a new contact basin, new sodium hypochlorite storage building, renovations to an existing sodium bisulfite building, installation of new gravity sewer, and misc. piping.

PROJECT SUMMARY: The general scope of work for this project consists of demolition and removal of the former school building and improvements as shown on the plans. Once the building demolition has occurred, the removal and disposal of the of the top 2 feet of existing soil within the limits shown on the plans, followed by the furnishing and installation of lime conditioned select fill to the proposed elevation identified. The select fill will be installed in multiple lifts and compacted to the required density as monitored by engineer and testing laboratory.

• Remove and replace all bearings and couplings in Oxidation Ditch No. 1.
• Remove 60 HP direct coupled motors/gearboxes (6 EA) from Oxidation Ditch No. 1 and replace with 60 HP belt driven motors/gearboxes (6 EA).
• Furnish and install 100A NEMA 4XSS disconnect switch near each motor at Oxidation Ditch No.’s 1 and 2 (12 EA).
• Furnish and install CAT6 ethernet cable in existing 1” conduit (2 EA) for wireless gateway monitoring system.
