City of Lake Charles, Louisiana City of Lake Charles Civic Center Chiller Replacement CP 9778 SECTION 01010 - SUMMARY OF WORK PART 1 - GENERAL RELATED DOCUMENTS Drawings and general provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and other Division-1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project of which the "work" of this contract is a part is titled, “CITY OF LAKE CHARLES – CIVIC CENTER CHILLER REPLACEMENT”. The project consists of the work as hereinafter specified and as shown on plans dated April 2023 and prepared by: ADG Engineering 3004 Ryan Street Lake Charles, LA 70601 The work, in general, consists of the following: Base bid: The work will involve removal of existing Chiller 1A and associated piping, controls, and electrical work. The existing chilled water system will be chemically treated when complete. WORK SEQUENCE The Base Bid contractor shall begin immediately upon receipt of notice to proceed. Phasing shall be as hereinafter described. Contractor shall coordinate receipt of equipment materials, etc. to coincide with timetable of Phasing. Contractor shall coordinate through owner's representative and shall cooperate to provide efficient interfacing of activities. CONTRACTOR USE OF PREMISES General: During the construction period, the Contractor shall have full use of the premises for construction operations, including use of the site, as indicated on the Construction Documents. The contractor's use of the premises is limited only by the Owner’s right to perform construction operation with its own forces or to employ separate contractors on work not of this contract. Confine operations to areas within Contract limits indicated. Portions of the site beyond areas in which construction operations are indicated are not to be disturbed. Keep driveways and entrances serving the premises clear and available to the Owner and the Owner’s employees at all times. Do not use these areas for parking or storage of materials. Schedule deliveries to minimize space and time requirements for storage of materials and equipment on site. Use of Existing Building: Maintain the existing building in a weathertight condition throughout the construction period. Repair damage caused by construction operations. Take all precautions necessary to protect the building and its occupants during the construction period. OWNER OCCUPANCY Owner Occupancy: The existing building is currently occupied. Portions of the work will remain occupied throughout the course of the project. Contractor shall coordinate all requirements for access, with owner’s representatives. Partial Owner Occupancy The Owner reserves the right to occupy and to place and install equipment in areas of the building, prior to Substantial Completion provided that such occupancy does not interfere with completion of the work. Such placing of equipment and partial occupancy shall not constitute acceptance of the total work. A Certificate of Substantial Completion will be executed for each specific portion of the Work to be occupied prior to Owner occupancy. Prior to partial Owner occupancy, mechanical and electrical systems shall be fully operational. Required inspections and tests shall have been successfully completed. Upon occupancy the Owner will provide operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems in occupied portions of the building. PART 2 - PRODUCTS (Not Applicable). PART 3 - EXECUTION (See specific sections of specifications). PHASING Upon Notice to Proceed, contractor shall submit a detailed phasing plan, together with first application for payment, for review and acceptance. Existing facility shall remain open with systems in operation on a continuous basis. Where new systems are installed, existing systems shall be left in service while work is ongoing and when new systems are capable, a short duration (less than 12 hours) shut-down will be coordinated with staff to effect a change over.

Opal Drive & Yorkshire Drive – The rehab of existing settled drainage box and pipe along with the associated pavement and driveway work. 2. W. Prien Lake Road near Heard Road – The filling/piping in of a portion of the roadside ditch to protect against further erosion. 3. 2500 Block of Fitzenreiter Road – Rehab of existing compromised drainage box and pipe. 4. Doolan Lane – The filling/piping in of a portion of the Doolan Lane’s roadside ditch from 18th Street South approximately 75 feet. This is being done to protect against further erosion. 5. City of Lake Charles, Louisiana Power Centre Parkway Sidewalks CP 3384 I. Scope of Work: The scope of work for this project is to install sidewalks on the South side of Power Centre Parkway from 5th Avenue to Amoco Rd. East of Hwy. 14. The sidewalks will tie into the existing sidewalks from the Cottages at Power Centre on the southwest side of the 5th Avenue and Power Centre Parkway intersection, crosswalk across 5th Avenue, connect to the existing 5th Avenue sidewalks along the east side, and traverse along the south side of 5th avenue approximately 0.50 miles to Highway 14. This will be followed by a crosswalk with pedestrian signal across Highway 14, and approximately 0.18 miles of new sidewalk along the south side of Power Centre Parkway, connecting to the existing sidewalk near the southwest corner of Amoco Dr. intersection in front of the Lake Charles Charter Academy. The Hwy. 14 crossing requires signal work to modify the traffic pattern to include the pedestrian sequence. The engineering and design has already been included in the project plans and specs. Each of the intersections and driveways, etc. will required removal of existing curb to modify for ADA accessible ramps. See plan sheets and specs for more details and locations.

This pier and floating dock will total approximately 130 long. It will consist of a timber pile supported fixed pier with composite lumber decking and framing. A metal gangway will connect this fixed pier to the floating dock.

Prien Lake Road CP3406 SCOPE OF WORK: Project scope consists of the installation of a proposed watermain along Corbina Road in Lake Charles, LA. The project scope shall include, but it not limited to, the installation of a 16” diameter watermain, gate valves, fire hydrants, ductile iron fittings, material, equipment and labor. The installation of the proposed watermain by horizontal and directional drilling will be required for approximately 1,100 linear feet. PROJECT LIMITS: The project limits are along the eastern side of Corbina Road extending from James Court to E. Prien Lake Road.

City of Lake Charles University Area Blue Sub-Basin Sewer Rehabilitation Capital Project Number CP3251 I. Background: The University area is one of the oldest areas in the City of Lake Charles. Wastewater flow studies have indicated excessive inflow and infiltration during rain events, causing peak flows up to 14 times the average daily wastewater rate. II. Scope of Services: Based on review of the CCTV data of the sewer line cleaning and CCTV project within the University area, the assessed pipelines have been designated as critically deficient and priority one deficient. Following review of the assessment the following scope of work has been developed. A. There is approximately 3,215 LF of 8” sewer pipe that has been identified as critical deficiencies and an additional 7,948 LF of 8” sewer pipe that has been identified as priority one deficiencies that will be rehabilitated as part of the base bid of this project. B. Manchac Consulting Group, Inc. will analyze the CCTV data provided, and rehabilitation methods will be refined upon review of the CCTV data during final design. Rehabilitation methods include pipe bursting, point repairs, cured-in-place lining, and manhole lining.
