Scope of Services: Contractor shall complete all Work as specified or indicated in the Contract Documents for the Center West Water Treatment Plant - Electrical Starter Replacement project. City of Lake Charles, Louisiana Wastewater Treatment Plant D Disinfection Facility Improvements Capital Project No. 3404 I. Scope of Services: The City of Lake Charles owns and operates the Wastewater Treatment Plant D, located at 3820 Tank Farm Rd. In the draft permit renewals for each facility, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) introduced a new effluent discharge limitation for Enterococci bacteria. Manchac has consulted with the existing disinfection equipment manufacturer and determined that the equipment will not meet the new Enterococci limits as mandated by DEQ. This project will include the removal and replacement of the existing disinfection treatment equipment with a new Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Bisulfite disinfection basin. Work includes the construction of a new contact basin, new sodium hypochlorite storage building, renovations to an existing sodium bisulfite building, installation of new gravity sewer, and misc. piping.
