Innovative Teaching and Technology Center Renovation For Nursing, Phase 1-A (Demolition Package)
The University of Northern Iowa has crafted a vision for a new Nursing program to start in the Fall of 2024. The program will facilitate experimental learning opportunities for students to learn and train in. This includes hybrid laboratories that facilitate didactic and small group learning as well as immersive practice-based learning. Flexible simulation environments allow for a diversity of high-fidelity scenarios leading to increase outcomes by students. Storage and support spaces allow for these spaces to perform and function seamlessly. Flat-floor active learning environments support the didactic and small group learning curriculum and allow for flexibility depending on the courses being delivered. Finally, office environments support the faculty needs and functions. This initial package is for demolition only in advance of the general construction package to be issued mid-June.

Center for Energy and Environmental Education Exterior Envelope Repairs
The project consists of but is not limited to:
1) Selective masonry repointing (CMU veneer, brick and natural stone)
2) Water Repellent Treatment of masonry (CMU veneer and natural stone)
3) Retrofit flashings at base of corrugated metal panels
4) Retrofit thru-wall flashing at lintels in brick veneer portions of building
5) Spot rust treatment and refinishing of exposed structural steel and galvanized panels/trim
6) Install new gutters and downspouts; reseal/repair select gutter and flashings
7) Install new coping at natural stone coping caps
8) Install new sealant/backer at intersection of site paving and exterior walls
9) Selective replacement of damaged storefront framing
10) Minor insulation retrofit and interior finish repair/replacement

Maucker Union Tuckpointing & Concrete Repairs
This project consists of sealant, masonry, and concrete repair work. Existing damage has been caused by age, deterioration, moisture intrusion, freeze/thaw cycles, and limited subsidence of flatwork. Sealant joint replacement, solid surface epoxy repairs, concrete patching, repointing of existing brick, replacement of damaged brick, and removal and replacement of flatwork to existing joints will be project requirements. There are four (4) areas requiring attention.

UNI Rider Hall NE Entrance Canopy
This project located on the NE side of Rider Hall will provide a much needed new entrance canopy for this location. The existing canopy has been removed. The new canopy will have new exposed structural steel, an EPDM roof membrane and cable tie backs to the existing wall. Existing brick masonry will be patched back to match the existing construction.

Hagemann Hall and Hagemann and Rider Skywalk Roof Replacement
Remove existing rock ballast and EPDM membrane, remove existing insulation (except for Roof Area 4), adhere/mechanically attach new insulation, adhere new coverboard and install new adhered Fleecebacked KEE membrane.

UNI-Dome Fabric Roof Replacement
Replacement of the existing fabric roof with a new PTFE fiberglass membrane while keeping the existing cable and other existing fabric support structure. In addition to the roof replacement, a new fall protection system is to be installed to provide access to all roof levels. The existing waterproofing at entrance canopies, lower & upper gutter, ring beam and cupola is to be replaced or repaired with new waterproofing.
