City of Lake Charles, Louisiana University Area Red Sub Basin Sewer Rehabilitation Capital Project Number CP3251 I. Scope of Services A. The University area is one of the oldest areas in the City of Lake Charles. Wastewater flow studies have indicated excessive inflow and infiltration during rain events, causing peak flows up to 14 times the average daily wastewater rate. B. Based on review of CCTV data of the Sub-Basin, recommendations for repair have been made and a cost estimate has been developed. C. This scope of work covers the repair of the collection system in the University – Red Sub-Basin Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: a. Base Bid: i. There is approximately 8,418 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer pipeline to be rehabilitated as part of this project. Rehabilitation methods include point repairs, pipe bursting, open cut replacement, installation of new manholes, and manhole lining. Also included within this contract is the reinstating of approximately 145 active sewer service laterals. b. Alternate No. 1: i. There is approximately 1,605 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer pipeline to be rehabilitated as part of this project. Rehabilitation methods include point repairs, pipe bursting, installation of new manholes, and manhole lining. Also included within this contract is the reinstating of approximately 33 active sewer service laterals. c. Alternate No. 2: i. There is approximately 1,246 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer pipeline to be rehabilitated as part of this project. Rehabilitation methods include point repairs, pipe bursting, installation of new manholes, and manhole lining. Also included within this contract is the reinstating of approximately 12 active sewer service laterals.

Background: Gusting winds, debris impacts, and heavy rain, associated with Hurricane Laura, incurred minimal to severe damages to multiple buildings located at Wastewater Treatment Plants A, B/C, and D. This project will serve to provide necessary repairs to reinstate building functionality to pre-storm conditions. Scope items have also been identified that would serve to upgrade these antiquated systems to the latest codes and standards. II. Scope of Services: Design and implementation of building repairs, in response to damages incurred as a result of Hurricane Laura (DR-4559-LA), to pre-storm conditions and regulations as imposed by governmental bodies with the appropriate jurisdictional authority. City of Lake Charles, Louisiana Riverridge Drive Drainage Improvements CP3403 The project scope of work consists of improvements to drainage infrastructure along Riverridge Drive. The project limits extend 2,817 linear feet from Lisle Peters Road to the dead end of Riverridge Drive. Improvements shall include the removal and replacement of existing storm drain pipe and catch basins in various locations. Additional improvements such as regrading of existing roadside ditches, installation of drainage swales and removal/replacement of existing walks and drives associated with storm drain infrastructure improvements shall be conducted.
