The intent of this Contract is to provide for construction and completion, in every detail, of the Work described. The general scope of work for Project No. 2016-657, Lake Street Reconstruction from McNeese Street South Approximately 1000 feet, includes the following:
1. Paving: Construct a new 10” thick, 48 to 60-foot wide reinforced concrete pavement with integral curb and 8” compacted stone base. New 6-foot wide plain concrete sidewalk on the East side of the street will be constructed. Approximate project length is about 1000 linear feet.
2. Water: Replace the existing 12” water line with new 12” DR-18 AWWA C900 PVC water pipe including valves and fire hydrants as required. Tie into the existing water line at McNeese Street and at W. Contour Street. Tie the new 12” water line to meters with new service lines. The existing 12” water line to be abandoned is to be grouted in place or removed.
3. Drainage: Install new underground drainage system that will connect to the 72" drainage line beneath McNeese Street. The existing drainage system on Lake Street will be removed and replaced with the new upgraded system.
4. Traffic: Upgrade traffic signal and striping at intersection of Lake and McNeese Street.

I. Scope of Services:
A. The City of Lake Charles Water Division currently owns and operates the 500,000 Gallon Elevated Storage Tank at the Center West Water Treatment Plant.
Rehabilitation of the existing tank in general includes:
a. Drainage improvements around the tank
b. Erection and maintenance of a temporary containment system to contain sand blasting and paint debris from falling on adjacent properties and vehicles.
c. Light sand blasting of the tank exterior and appurtenances and applying a three coat exterior coating system to the entire tank exterior.
d. Sandblasting interior tank walls and appurtenances and applying 3 coat interior coating system to these surfaces.
e. Perform the necessary adjustments to windages/sway rods to return the tank to its original erect, design conformance.
f. Furnish and install repairs and improvements to the interior roof, vent, roof ladder, etc.
g. Furnish and install new catwalk improvements, ladder gate, fall protection signs, safety handrails, confined space signs, primary shell manway, bowl ladder, fall protection device, brass lock, overflow pipe and roof vent
screening, etc.
h. Bring the storage tank and its safety components into compliance with current AWWA/OSHA/NFPA safety requirements by the completing the addition or
replacement of all non‐compliant items noted from the tank inspection.
