The Kenai Peninsula Borough's Purchasing and Contracting Department provides support and service to the various entities of the Borough. The department's objectives are to obtain materials, equipment, and/or services in a timely, cost effective manner, and at the best value to the Borough. We provide all departments and service areas of the Borough with clear guidance as it pertains to purchasing policies and procedures, and ensure that appropriations are used wisely and in the best interest of the Borough while preserving the integrity and fairness of the competitive process.

ITB26-004 PURCHASE OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE FY26
The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified firms to submit a firm price for acceptance by the Borough to purchase an estimated 1,024,500 pounds of Anhydrous Calcium Chloride, 94-97% mini pellets, industrial grade and must be in no less than 2,000-pound bags and no more than 2,700-pound bags. Bags must have a bottom discharge chute for easy release of the product. The mini pellets must meet the classification of Anhydrous Calcium Chloride Type S, Grade 3, Class B, according to the ASTM D-98 and AASHTO M 144 requirement of calcium chloride purity.

RFP26-006 SOLID WASTE ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE
The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified firms to submit proposals for acceptance by the Borough to provide Environmental Compliance, permitting, regulatory assistance and preliminary engineering and economic analysis services for the Central Peninsula Landfill (CPL) and KPB Solid Waste Department. Work includes environmental compliance activities in the field and reporting of behalf of the Solid Waste Department, preparing permit renewal applications, updating policies such as special waste disposal, assistance with regulatory issues, conceptual engineering, optimization analyses, and economic analysis. A pre-proposal conference has been rescheduled to October 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM via Zoom. Attendance at the pre-proposal conference is not mandatory but is strongly recommended.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified firms to submit a firm price for acceptance by the Borough for Central Peninsula Hospital Phase VI - Obstetrics/Catheterization Lab. The project consists of an addition and remodel of the existing Central Peninsula Hospital Building. The size of the project includes approximately 27,000 square feet of additional building area, replacement of approximately 8,000 square feet of building area, and the remodel of approximately 19,000 square feet of building area. The project is an I-2 Healthcare occupancy constructed as a Type II-A building with a concrete foundation system, steel structural frame, and composite floor systems. The building structure is required to be fireproofed with spray applied fireproofing. The construction will require a phased approach to complete, and working within occupied hospital spaces.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Road Service Area hereby invites qualified vendors to submit a firm price for acceptance by the Borough to purchase the following for dust control on gravel roads: *** Estimated 1,000,000 pounds of Anhydrous Calcium Chloride, 94-97% mini pellets, industrial grade. Delivery must be made in no less than 2,000 pound bags and no more than 2,700 pound bags. *** The product must be delivered via flatbed trailers and stacked no more than two (2) pallets high. *** All prices quoted must be delivered F.O.B. Kenai Peninsula no earlier than March 1, 2018 and no later than May 1, 2018. Estimated quantities to KPB locations are as follows: Soldotna 615,000 pounds; Kenai 200,000 pounds; Homer 150,000 pounds; Seward 35,000 pounds.
